It’s not often people find a job that combines their skills with their passion, but Eulogia Almanza has been able to do just that in his role as Principal Environmental Advisor at Pilbara Minerals.

After starting his career in Argentina as a young lawyer, specialising in Corporate Law in the Oil & Gas Industry, Eulogio made the switch to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) roles after moving to Australia twelve years ago.

“I came to Australia with my wife and newborn baby back in 2010 and the following year we moved to Kalgoorlie for a job opportunity in the Mining Industry,” Eulogio said.

“It has been nonstop ever since, and twelve years and four children later, I have been fortunate enough to progress in this unique Industry, while working in ESG roles for mining companies across several cities, countries and continents.”

Eulogio has found the ESG space to be very rewarding as it has allowed him to combine the best of two worlds.

“I have found in ESG a very interesting discipline where I can combine my Legal and Regulatory background with my passion for Sustainability.”

In 2021 Eulogio successfully applied for the role of Senior Environmental Advisor at Pilbara Minerals and progressed to the role of Principal several months later.

“Last year, with the acquisition of Ngungaju Operations and the expansion of the Pilgangoora Project, PLS changed the structure of the Environmental Team and created the role of Principal.”

With the Pilgangoora project expected to expand over the coming months and years, Eulogio enjoys that his role plays a part in what that will look like.

“The most enjoyable part of my job is foreseeing how the Project is going to look like in three, five and even 10 years; and to start working now on what will be required to achieve that vision.”

“I like the combination of the casual, flexible and dynamic working environment that Pilbara Minerals offers, which at the same time is professional, efficient and delivers results.”

If Eulogio had one piece of advice for someone wanting to join the Pilbara Minerals team it would be to be proactive, approachable, and always show your full potential.

Could you please provide a brief snapshot of a typical work day from 5 am – 7pm?
